Parent Power

Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services
As a parent, you have a huge influence on your child’s decisions. It’s a fact—children whose parents talk to them about the risks of alcohol and other drugs are much less likely to use them. Your kids may not let you know you have Parent Power, but you do. Talking about the risks of prescription drug misuse and abuse with your kids may be a new challenge.  It may be something you haven’t thought of before.  But your kids may not know about the harmful effects of misusing prescription drugs, so it’s important for you to have meaningful talks with your child about it.
