[Webinar] Mental Health Crises- A New Team for 1st Response in RI
January 20, 2021 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
The Rhode Island Association for Justice is sponsoring 3 hours of training on an alternative response team approach to 911 mental health crises calls. The purpose of this program is to learn from a successful program in Eugene, Oregon and work with current first responders to improve outcomes and resource use. CAHOOTS (Caring Assistance Helping Out on the Streets) is a program in which mental health providers and EMTs respond to mental health 911 calls. CAHOOTS has been providing this service for over 30 years and the CAHOOTS employees work together with police and fire responders. Let’s look together at how this program can be adapted and used in Rhode Island. The attached invitation gives more details. There is no fee but registration is required. We hope you can join us!
