Governor Mills 4th Annual Opioid Response Summit

Governor Janet Mills will host her 4th Annual Opioid Response Summit on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, with the theme this year being Community, Connection and Compassion. This annual summit is part of the state’s commitment to fighting the opioid epidemic, and convenes leaders from around Maine and the Nation to share ideas, strategies, and best practices to help Maine people affected by this crisis.

Although this year’s event is in person, some of the plenary sessions will be livestreamed. There is no cost for the live stream, but you must be registered in order to receive the link. There are no credits or certificates associated with the live-stream.

Other plenary session presenters include U.S. Attorney for the District of Maine, Darcie McElwee; Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey; Acting Director of the Office of Behavioral Health, Sarah Squirrell; Maine CDCP Director Nirav Shah, M.D., J.D. and Governor Janet T. Mills.

Featured Speakers:

  • Rahul Gupta, M.D., MPH, MA, FACP, first medical doctor to serve as the Director of National Drug Control Policy and lead the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP)
  • Ryan Hampton, National Leader and Author, American Fix (2018) and Unsettled (2021)
  • Tom Coderre, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use at SAMHSA
