Grant Writing in Prevention: 2-Part Series (HHS Region 1)

This series is designed for Vermont Prevention Providers. Vermont providers will be given priority if spaces fill up. A Vermont-based RFP will be used as an example in this series. Prevention providers from other New England states welcome, if space is available, as content may be applicable. |
Workshop #1: Planning for Successful Grant Writing & Problem Statements |
In this first workshop, you will learn how to select grants, create a grant timeline, write proposals, develop pre-written materials, build a grant-writing team, use common frameworks like SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework, demonstrate community engagement, and form effective partnerships with agreements. You will also learn how to write a compelling problem statement which describes the problem you aim to solve using data (substance use prevalence, risk/protective factors, consequence data) gathered from your local community. |
Workshop #2: How to Write Successful Grant Narratives in Prevention |
This second workshop in the “Writing Successful Grants in Prevention” series focuses on the key parts of a strong grant proposal narrative in the field of prevention. Participants will learn how to: |
